Agassis's Diary
The temple of tennis

Andre Agassi had never revealed the intense emotions of a Temple, at least until his win on 6 June 1999. This time it was different, he writes in his autobiography, Open: he dropped his racket and threw his hands in the air, releasing unexpected and uncontrollable joy.
The emotional look he gave his coach straight after the match point is iconic. A Temple that he had always longed for, finally achieved eight years after his last final played on clay. The 1999 Roland-Garros tournament belongs to him. Andre is retracing his steps alongside Lavazza, revisiting the places where eighteen years ago he received the ultimate tennis accolade.
